Physics-Enabled 3D Asset Library for Robotic Simulation
This video demonstrates the placement and generation of a 3D physical asset library with minimum convex hull colliders in an AR environment. After each object is placed into the environment, its current position in the AR space can be obtained in real-time. This video is played at 3x speed.
Interactive Mobile AR Anime Companion
This video demonstrates the entire process of placing and having a continuous conversation with a virtual anime character in an AR environment. Note that this video has sound (the character’s responses). For specific technical details, please click on the project title.
Autonomous Virtual Vision for AR Characters
This video shows a demo of the character’s virtual vision. After generating the character in the AR space, you can manually arrange the scene to the same physical location using the adjustment panel. The small video window in the top left corner displays what the character sees through their eyes. This video is played at 2x speed. (For future improvements, I hope to achieve automatic matching or use more precise SLAM for modeling.)
Huffman Data Compression Web Application
This video demonstrates all the features of a Huffman compression software presented in the form of a web page. Its core functionality supports lossless compression and decompression of text, images (under 10MB), and files. The backend is entirely written using C++ standard libraries (not an easy feat to accomplish in two weeks). This video is played at 5x speed.
3D Modeling and Printing of Professor Agasa’s House
This video showcases the Blender model of Dr. Agasa’s house (although it looks cool, in order to finally use it as a 3D printed physical model, wall thickness must be added to the model and it must be properly sliced, because the interior is essentially hollow and contains indoor structures). A pillar at the back door appears black due to a GPU calculation issue in the Cycles engine; switching to CPU calculation displays the material normally.
